Written Judgment Release by Court

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) would like to inform the community that it has received the official written judgment from the Court of Kahnawà:ke pertaining to the 2009 MCK Elections and the eligibility of Kaniatariio Gilbert.

Gilbert’s eligibility to run for Council Chief was called into question after an official complaint was registered with the Court of Kahnawà:ke by a community member, citing a portion of the Kahnawà:ke Election Law which states a nominee must be a ‘usual resident’ of Kahnawà:ke.
