Compost Participation Draw returns

The Waste Management Department of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawą:ke is pleased to announce the return of the Compost Participation Draw, aimed at encouraging greater community involvement in compost collection.
To boost participation, Waste Management will provide each community member with a ticket attached to their compost bin after collection. Each week, there will be one draw for each section of the community, according to their scheduled compost collection day. Households in the section collected that week will automatically be entered for a chance to win a $25 Shop Kahnawą:ke Gift Certificate. This initiative will run for ten (10) weeks, starting on Monday, October 14th and concluding on Thursday, December 19th.
Items accepted in the Compost Collection bin:
- Fruits/Peelings
- Vegetable Peelings
- Coffee Grounds
- Eggshells
- Bread
- Pasta
- Fish
- Bones
- Non-diseased plants
- End-of-season plants
