REMINDER - OKKR Information Session Wednesday

09/27/2024

The Office of the Kahnawake Kanienkehaka Registry (OKKR) would like to remind the community of the upcoming information session happening on Wednesday, October 2nd, from 1:30pm to 3:30pm held at the Okwari Room, located on the second floor of the Kahnawake Services Complex. The Information Session will provide a detailed overview of the application process for both recognition and residency on the Kahnawake Kanienkehaka Registry (KKR).

A second session is scheduled for Tuesday, October 29th, from 6pm to 8pm.

These sessions will focus on the process for applying to be recognized on the KKR, obtaining Approved Kahnawà:ke Resident authorization, and applying for Residency Permits. Additionally, attendees will receive information about the forthcoming launch of the Complaints Process for eviction of an individual in violation of the Kahnawà:ke Residency Law.

Though no applications will be distributed or accepted during the sessions, copies of the Kahnawà:ke Kanien’kehá:ka Law and the Kanien’kehá:ka Registry Law will be available for review.

For more information or to register, please contact OKKR General Manager Melanie Konwenni Gilbert at 450-638-0500. Walk-ins are welcome.
