Emergency repair work for South Texas level crossing

The Public Safety Division of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawake would like to inform Kahnawakeronon that emergency repair work will be carried-out by Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) Railroad at the South Texas level crossing on Friday, August 16, 2024, from 7pm until 4am Saturday.

As a result, the level crossing will be completely closed to vehicular traffic. Residents of the New Development/Lot 106 area will be required to detour via South Texas to R-207 or Indian Way. (see map below)

The Public Safety Division would like to assure area residents that measures are being put in place with CPKC to allow access to first responders in case of an emergency situation.
