Holiday Message to the Community
12/21/2022
The month of December has been one of the most challenging we have experienced in many years. As a community, we have mourned so many of our loved ones that it almost defies belief.
As we enter the Holiday Season, we need no reminder that our families are the most important and precious parts of our lives. This year, more than any other in recent memory, we ask that we take extra time to appreciate the gifts we do have and count our blessings. Kahnawà:ke has always been one of the most loving, supportive, and resilient communities anywhere.
We should remember the many good things that happened in the past twelve months and that, despite the challenges, we remain a strong and forward-looking community. We must continue to work together to ensure that our children have the bright future that we all envision.
The Holiday Season is a time of Hope, and the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke hopes that all Kahnawa’kehró:non have a safe and healthy Holiday Season.
