Nitsenhaienhs attending AFNQL Chiefs Assembly

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke would like to advise the community that Ohén:ton Í:iente ne Ratitsénhaienhs (Grand Chief) Kahsennenhawe Sky-Deer and Ratsénhaienhs (Chief) Ryan Montour are attending the Assembly of First Nations Quebec-Labrador (AFNQL) Chiefs Assembly, north of Quebec City.

The agenda includes Housing, Infrastructure, Intergovernmental Relations, Justice, and a meet & greet with the Quebec Minister Responsible for Native Affairs, Ian Lafreniere, to name a few.

A panel discussion on Public Safety issues with Chief Peacekeeper Dwayne Zacharie is also on today’s agenda.

The AFNQL Chiefs Assembly began today and ends on Thursday. The Nitsénhaienhs will return to the office on Friday.
