Ratsenhaienhs Ross Montour in Vancouver to attend Impact Assessment conference

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke wishes to inform the community that Ratsénhaienhs Ross Montour is travelling to Vancouver to participate in the International Association for Impact Assessment “IAIA 22” Conference. The conference, being held on the unceded territory of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations, begins tomorrow (Wednesday) and continues through Saturday.

He will attend due to his role as the Lead in the Indigenous Rights & Research portfolio, which includes the Consultation & Accommodation files.

This year’s conference will examine the area of confidence in impact assessment through effective and improved participation/consultation, with the goal of creating improved processes to support true collaboration, leading to improved outcomes.

Ratsénhaienhs Montour will return and be present for the upcoming Council meeting on Monday, May 9th.
