Scam Calls Increasing

The Kahnawake Peacekeepers have seen increased reports of residents receiving suspicious phone calls from individuals posing as revenue agents.

The caller advises of a problem with your social insurance number and cautions that legal action can be taken against you as a result.

The Kahnawake Peacekeepers would like to remind the community that no law enforcement agency, federal, provincial, or otherwise, conducts investigations via the telephone or online.

Do not give personal information to anyone that contacts you in this manner.

These types of calls can be ignored. However, if you do provide information to one of these scam callers, you must open a file with the Kahnawake Peacekeepers at (450) 632-6505 to begin taking steps to secure your identity.
