The Office of the Kanienkehį:ka of Kahnawą:ke Registry (KKR) wishes to inform the community that it will begin a partial implementation of the Kahnawą:ke Residency Law that will allow residency applications for qualified persons not currently recognized on the KKR.
The permissions to reside include the following:

- Work/Education Permit and;
- Humanitarian Permit
The Approved Kahnawą:ke Resident application is free of charge for the first year. All applications must include a criminal background check. Please note that this is only for applications; the complaints, compliance and eviction portions of the law will only be implemented at a later date.
Please contact the Office of the Kahnawą:ke Kanienkehį:ka Registry at 450-638-0500 if there are any questions, or to set up an appointment to pick up an application. (Please note that a Iori:wase podcast featuring Registrar Melanie Gilbert should help provide information and clarification on this matter.)
The Kahnawą:ke Residency Law was passed in the summer of 2019, with the final seven (7) Regulations approved on September 20, 2020. Work continues to finalize all of the processes included in the Regulations.
