Immunosuppressed residents of any age can now book COVID-19 vaccination appointments

03/03/2021

The Kahnawà:ke COVID-19 Task Force (Task Force) wishes to advise the community that immunosuppressed residents, regardless of age, can now book an appointment to receive their COVID-19 vaccination.

‘Immunosuppressed’ means ‘having a weakened immune system.’ It is also called ‘immunocompromised.’ If you are compromised, your doctor should have already identified it with you. If you are unsure what conditions are considered as making someone immunosuppressed, click here.

Interested persons should call the Kateri Memorial Hospital Centre at 450-638-3930, ext. 2295 or 2206 to book an appointment.

Please ensure that you have your Medicare card in hand when booking your appointment. Please note, if the phone line is busy, leave a message, and someone will get back to you.

“Although the Vaccination Center is set up to be safe for all community members, we wanted to ensure that priority groups, such as elders and immunosuppressed persons, feel safe when coming in for their vaccine,” said Lloyd Phillips, Commissioner of Public Safety and Chair of the Task Force.
