Task Force announces return of limited household visitation
01/26/2021
The Kahnawà:ke COVID-19 Task Force (Task Force) is pleased to announce the lifting of Directive 54, which had put a hold on household visitation.
As of Friday, January 29th household visits will be permitted. However, visitation is limited to ONE other household at a time, and is recommended only ONCE per week, as per Directive 36.4). All safety measures (masking, distance, and hygiene) MUST be followed.
The lifting of Directive 54 is a direct result of the reduction of positive COVID-19 cases in Kahnawà:ke. While the efforts of the community resulted in the situation improving, it is vital that we remain vigilant and continue following all safety measures in an effort to stop the spread of the virus.
The Task Force reminds Kahnawa’kehró:non that the lifting of these directives is conditional, as an increase in positive cases could see new restrictions or measures put back into place.
