New Reporting Requirement Directive 51

12/08/2020

The Kahnawake COVID-19 Task Force wishes to inform the community that it has issued a new directive, that requires those who have tested positive for COVID-19 OUTSIDE the community, to IMMEDIATLEY report their positive results to the Kateri Memorial Hospital (KMHC) local Public Health Team.

Directive 51 was issued, after the Task Force was made aware of several positive cases. Those who tested positive are residents, and non-residents who work in the community. All those who yielded a positive result were tested at facilities outside the community.

While there is a line of communications between the various outside health agencies and the Kateri Memorial Hospital (KMHC) local Public Health Team, delays in sharing this vital information may occur, significantly increasing the risk to the community.

To reduce this risk, the Kahnawake COVID-19 Task Force has issued Directive 51 which states that any resident or non-resident employee tested outside of Kahnawake MUST IMMEDIATELY notify the KMHC local Public Health Team if he or she:

  • has received a positive test result, or
  • has been informed that they may been in contact with someone who has tested positive through epidemiological link

This will ensure that appropriate measures are taken to safeguard the community and other employees.

Local residents and non-residents working in the community are being urged to be tested at the Kahnawake COVID-19 testing site.

The Kateri Memorial Hospital local Public Health Team can be reached at 450-638-3939 ext.2213.
