Fish Survey in Tioweroton next week
09/05/2019
The Kahnawà:ke Environment Protection Office wishes to inform the community of environmental fieldwork occurring in the Tioweró:ton Territory. Work is scheduled to take place throughout the week of September 9th - 13th, 2019. Depending on weather, fieldwork may continue on Saturday, September 14th or carry over into the following week.
Consultants from Groupe Hemispheres will be on the Territory conducting a Brook Trout survey in the Doncaster River as well as Red Trout Lake and Lake Gagnon.
The inventory builds on a habitat characterization and local knowledge gathering campaign completed in 2018. Together this information will inform a Brook Trout Conservation Strategy.
The consultants will be accompanied by the Tioweró:ton Caretakers at all times while on the Territory.
Please contact the Kahnawà:ke Environment Protection Office at 450-635-0600 or environment.protection@mck.ca for more information. The Tioweró:ton caretakers are also able to address any questions or concerns about the fish survey. They can be reached at 819-321-3375 (Main Entrance) or 819-424-2377 (North House).
