MCK announces new General Manager of the Kahnawake Kanienkehaka Registry

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) is pleased to inform Kahnawa’kehrò:non that Alan John Rice is the successful candidate for the position of General Manager of the Kahnawà:ke Kanien’kehá:ka Registry. He begins his new duties today at the Client-Based Services Unit located at the Services Complex.
This is a new position within the MCK.
“We are happy to have A.J. Rice on board,” said Alexis Shackleton, Director of Client-Based Services. “He is an ambitious young man who is aware of the challenges that the position entails and is ready to begin the task at hand.”
“We would also like to thank Rose-Ann Morris for her years of exemplary service as Membership Registrar,” she added. “She has been of great assistance during this transition phase. She has tremendous knowledge and corporate memory, and we know we can count on her if needed during this time. We wish her continued success.”
Ms. Morris is still the Registrar, though she has begun the transition to a full-time return to her position working on the Seigneury of Sault St. Louis file with the Office of the Council of Chiefs.
Her duties as Registrar will end once the amendments to the Kanien’kehá:ka of Kahnawà:ke Law and its related Regulations are finalized. The position of Registrar will be posted at that time.
