CORRECTION - Chiefs attending AFN and AFNQL meetings this week

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) wishes to inform the community that four Chiefs are in Gatineau, Quebec for meetings at both the provincial and national level today (Tuesday) through Thursday.
Ratitsénhaienhs Joseph Tokwiro Norton, Gina Deer, Kahsennenhawe Sky-Deer and Clinton Phillips are attending the Assembly of First Nations Special Chiefs Assembly. Agenda items include the National Inquiry on Missing Indigenous Women and Girls; the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples; Energy Issues; and Climate Action and the Environment. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is addressing the Assembly today.
The four Chiefs are also participating in early morning meetings with the Assembly of First Nations of Quebec & Labrador (AFNQL) on all days.
Note: In yesterday’s press release, we indicated that Ratsénhaienhs Phillips was attending only the AFNQL meetings. The MCK regrets the error.
The Chiefs will return to the office on Friday.
