Major Mercier Bridge weekend closures
06/10/2016
The Mohawk Council of Kahnawą:ke (MCK) has been informed by the Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated that the second of three major Mercier Bridge Blitz preparation closures will take place this weekend.
The closures take place tonight (Friday, June 10th) at 9pm until Monday, June 13th at 5am.
During the work, the following configuration will be in place (see map):
- Both directions of the bridge will be reduced to one lane. - The Montreal-bound Route 138 up ramp (from Chateauguay) will be closed and traffic will be detoured towards the Route 132 upramp. - The Kahnawą:ke-bound Route 132 down ramp (towards La Prairie) will be closed and traffic will be detoured via Route 138 to Route 132.
Heavy traffic is expected at the 132/138 corridor at peak times.
Next weeks closure configuration will be announced once confirmed by the JCCBI. Motorists are advised to use alternate bridges during this time.
The MCK reminds the public that these works are subject to change due to weather conditions, operational constraints or work progression, and that it does not take part in the scheduling or cancellation of such works.
