New Chairperson appointed to Kahnawake Gaming Commission

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke (MCK) wishes to inform the community that Mark Jocks has been appointed to the position of Chairperson/Commissioner for the Kahnawake Gaming Commission (KGC) for a one-year term expiring on March 31, 2016.
Mr. Jocks was appointed to replace Dean Montour, whose term ended this past Tuesday, March 31, 2015. The appointment was supported unanimously by all twelve Council Chiefs.
“We have been fortunate to have someone of Mark Jocks’ calibre to fill the very demanding role of Chairperson,” said Gaming Portfolio Chief Gina Deer. “Mark has extensive experience in various parts of the online gaming industry, including regulatory support and information technologies.”
“We would like to thank Dean Montour for his exemplary service for the past seven years,” she added. “He has served with great diligence, dedication and integrity. We wish him great success in his future endeavors.”
The KGC consists of three voting Commissioners who are appointed by the MCK based on staggered terms. Mr. Jocks joins the other current Commissioners, Lori Jacobs and Melanie Mayo.
