Curbside Leaf Pick-up service

10/07/2014

The Kahnawà:ke Environment Protection Office (KEPO) is pleased to announce that a Curbside Leaf Pick-up service will be provided for the community on Thursday, October 23rd and Thursday, November 6th, 2014.

Community members are asked to ensure that only leaves are placed in transparent, orange or paper bags and are curbside by 7am on the indicated days. The service will not pick up bags that have contents other than leaves.

KEPO encourages community members to consider that fallen leaves are not garbage and, if possible, be used to shred and feed your lawn, made into mulch or composted.

Collected leaves will be composted at the Transfer Depot, rather than waste in a landfill. The service is offered as part of KEPO’s community waste reduction plan.

For more info on this Leaf Pick-up service call 450-635-0600.
