Warning: Door-to-door vendors selling knock-offs

The Community Protection Unit (CPU) is advising the community to be cautious of door-to-door solicitors attempting to sell what is commonly known as ′knockoff′ items within the community.

Such items include brand name head phones, perfumes and other similar popular goods.

Community members who are approached by non-local salespersons should ask to see a Hawkers & Peddlers Permit, exclusively issued by the CPU. The permits are issued to solicitors who pass a complete background check. Please note that an approved permit is not a product endorsement.

If the person does not have a permit, please direct them to the CPU, or contact the Kahnawake Peacekeepers should they refuse.
