The proposed law is now in its Second Reading which, in the Community Decision Making Process, takes place once a second draft of a proposed law or amendment to a law is completed.
Last night’s meeting, which was attended by approximately ten community members, resulted in consensus on the sections on the Preamble; Generalities; Forums; and Court of Kahnawà:ke Hearings. No changes were proposed for any of the sections.
The next Community Consultation on this topic will take place from 6pm to 8:30pm on 4, Enníska/February 2014 at the Golden Age Club. The meeting will begin at Section 5 (‘Court of Kahnawà:ke Judgments’).
