Kahnawake bound lanes completely closed, Mercier Bridge
12/19/2013
The Mohawk Council of Kahnawą:ke would like to announce that the Jacques Cartier and Champlain Bridges Incorporated is completely closing the Kahnawą:ke-bound span of the Mercier Bridge on Saturday, December 21st, from 4am until 10pm.
The complete closure is necessary to carry out repairs on the federal section of the bridges roadway.
Two Montreal-bound lanes will remain open during this time. There will be no Kahnawą:ke-bound access and motorists are urged to use any other South Shore bridges or Highway 30.
This section being repaired will eventually be replaced as part of the bridge rehabilitation. However, maintenance work is necessary, especially as winter approaches. The MCK continues to remind the public that works/closures on the Mercier Bridge are subject to change due to weather conditions, operational constraints or work progression, and that it does not take part in the scheduling or cancellation of such works.
