Chief Lloyd Phillips in Ottawa to meet on possible policing funding cuts

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke wishes to inform the community that Chief Lloyd Phillips is in Ottawa today attending   meetings with Chiefs and First Nations police directors to strategize regarding the threats of funding cuts to First Nations policing agencies across the country.

The meeting is being organized by the Assembly of First Nations of Quebec and Labrador and is expected to be immediately followed by a meeting with Federal officials.

More information is forthcoming. A press conference will be announced for later this afternoon.
