Electoral Officer Call for Nominations for 2012 MCK Elections

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke would like to inform the community of the Call for Nominations for the Electoral Officer of the 2012 Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke Elections.
The nomination period begins on 23, Enniskó:wa-March and ends at 4:00pm on 5, Onerahtókha - April. Nominations must be proposed and seconded by two community members who meet the requirements of the Kahnawá:ke Membership Law and are listed as members on the Kahnawá:ke Kanien’kehá:ka Registry.
Nominees must sign a privacy waiver to allow verification that they meet the following eligibility requirements -
- • Be over the age of twenty-one (21);<-li>
- • Meet requirements of the Kahnawá:ke Membership Law and be listed as a member on the Kahnawà:ke Kanien’kehá:ka Registry; <-li>
- • Reside in Kahnawà:ke; and <-li>
- • Must not have been, within the previous six (6) years, convicted and sentenced for a criminal offense. The six (6) year ban commences only after sentence has been served in full. <-li><-ul>

Community members who wish to nominate a candidate can pick up nomination forms during regular business hours at the main building of the Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke.
