Grand Chief to meet with new Quebec Minister of Native Affairs

The Mohawk Council of Kahnawà:ke wishes to inform the community that Grand Chief Michael Ahrihron Delisle, Jr. is meeting today with Quebec’s newly-appointed Minister responsible for Native Affairs, Geoff Kelley.

“I feel that Kahnawà:ke is in a better situation with Mr. Kelley in this position, “said Chief Delisle. “We have a long-standing relationship with him; this should allow us both to get right to the point in our dealings.”

No formal agenda has been set for this meeting, which will take place in Montreal.

Mr. Kelley was appointed Minister on 3 Enníska/February. He had previously served in the same capacity from 2005 to 2007.
