On behalf of the Kahnawà:ke Youth Forum, Chiefs Kahsennenhawe Sky-Deer and John Dee Delormier wish to invite the community to celebrate National Aboriginal Day on Monday, 21 Ohiarí:ha/June at the Kahnawà:ke Youth Center. Nakota Larance, one of the stars of the current Cirque de Soleil production “Totem,” will be the special guest of honor. The twenty-year-old hoop dancer expressed a wish to visit Kahnawà:ke and meet with the young people of the community. “He’s an inspiration and role model for young people,” said Chief Sky-Deer. “He’s on the world stage now – Cirque de Soleil is internationally know. He’s excited to come to Kahnawà:ke and meet some of our youth.” Hot Dogs, hamburgers and drinks will be on sale, with any proceeds going towards youth initiatives. One of those initiatives is a planned trip to see Totem. The event will start at 4pm and conclude at 7pm.
